Lindsay wanted to photograph the summer before Harlan entered kindergarten. Hoping for an archive of the way they spent their days before things begin to look a little different.
They live on Lindsay’s family land in the Hill Country of Central Texas. Just a hop, skip and a jump away from Harlans grandmother's house.
This place is special.
I will always feel at home in the rugged terrain of the Texas Hill Country.
This home in particular holds generations of Lindsay's family’s history and now holds Harlan’s history, too.
I called this the end of an era because starting kindergarten is quite a change, paired with a myriad of emotions, not the least of which being an intolerable longing for time to slow down.
Though I do suspect, and hope, that much of the same will remain for their family for a while longer.
