Woodlands Newborn Photographer

April 15, 2026

As a Woodlands newborn photographer, Fresh-48 sessions are one of my favorite ways to serve mothers here in The Woodlands and surrounding areas.

A Fresh-48 session is a photo session held within the first 48 hours after a baby is born.

Maybe you’ve seen photos of a baby in a hospital bassinet, swaddled with their name tag, their parents sitting and smiling nearby. Those are beautiful photos, but that’s not my take on a Fresh-48 session.

For me, a Fresh-48 session is more about remembering where you started.

The first few days after a baby is born are a whirlwind. Hormonally alone, it’s quite the event.

I see postpartum as sacred. I believe it is a time for rest, bonding, and nourishing meals. A time for a mother to be held.

When I come in for a Fresh-48 session, I’m there to honor the mother’s postpartum experience.

I photograph the rhythms of care that fill her days, feeding, sleeping, and cuddling. Sometimes families also want to document their baby’s first bath, a welcome addition to the session.

These photos become the story of where you started, so you can look back and see how far you’ve come, and feel proud and full of gratitude for the moments that shaped you.

Motherhood is not doom and gloom, but the first few days, weeks, and months with a baby are hard. I want to honor the mountain you’re about to embark on. To photograph how this moment in time feels, preserving tiny details you’ll want ingrained in your memory.

I see a Fresh-48 session as a way for me to meet you where you are. A way to serve you in one of the most vulnerable stages of life. You’re on the threshold between old and new, and I don’t take that lightly.

You don’t need a perfect house, the perfect outfit, or even your hair and makeup done. Seriously, please don’t clean up on my account. All you need to do is exist with your baby. I may guide you into better light, because photos do need light, but I’ll keep movement to a minimum.

Truly, I show up the same way I would to a friend’s house after she’s given birth. I may even show up with your favorite soup in tow, because I don’t believe in showing up at a newly postpartum mother’s home empty-handed.

If you take just one thing from this blog post, I hope it’s that I genuinely want to meet you where you’re at and give your story space to be photographed as it is.

A few notes

Fresh-48 sessions can happen within those first 48 hours, but I don’t mind if they take place anytime within that first week of baby being born. Whatever allows you to feel the most comfortable.

I love when Fresh-48 sessions happen in-home, so your photos reflect what your early postpartum days actually looked like. But if you’d like me to come to the hospital, I’m able to meet you there as well.
