Being both your elopement photographer and elopement planner allows you to get married your way at your chosen pace. I do what I do so that days like this one are made possible! Baily and Zach’s elopement day was quiet and simple in all of the best ways. They wanted to spend quality time together ditching the structure of a traditional wedding without compromising a beautiful experience. That’s what we made happen at their Texas Hill Country wedding!
Enchanted Rock–Hidden Gem of Texas Hill Country Wedding Locations
Enchanted Rock is a Texas Hill Country state park located just two hours from downtown Austin and twenty minutes from Fredericksburg. The nearby town is home to dozens of gorgeous wineries, unique restaurants, hotels and boutique shopping.
These newlyweds decided to stay for the weekend to explore the area starting with dinner and stargazing in their Airbnb hot tub followed by enjoying the local nightlife including dancing! Fredericksburg is a sweet little spot found amongst the many Texas Hill Country getaways.
The stunning park is home to its namesake, a scalable pink granite mountain which provides epic views. The landscape has a nice mix of desert and lush hill country features with yuccas and cacti along a river, trees and even wildflowers in the springtime. In the spring you’ll also find a variety of wildlife: birds, deer, coyotes, tarantulas, butterflies and bees.
The way the light changes when you’re enjoying Enchanted Rock at sunset is unreal. It’s one of my favorite places to watch the sunset and also one of the best locations to see the stars in Central Texas. This Texas Hill Country wedding location is so beautiful and accessible even if it’s only utilized for your elopement ceremony!
Why It’s Easy to Plan an Enchanted Rock Texas Hill Country Wedding
- With the city of Fredericksburg being so close by, it’s convenient to book wedding vendors in the area. You will find any vendor you may need for the day from hair and makeup to unique lodging and catering.
- The park itself is very accessible with scenic spots available via a short walk from the parking lot and ample space to explore and find privacy even on the busiest days.
- It’s a great location for couples wanting a shorter elopement timeline or those looking to elope with guests.

A Connected and Intimate Texas Hill Country Wedding
Being Baily and Zach’s first trip to Enchanted Rock, they shared how they wanted to remember “Going on that wonderful hike, finding the perfect spot, and making the most memorable experience together.” It was “the memory, the location, and the pictures capturing the special moment” that mattered most!
I love creating environments of ease where an elopement day simply unfolds. The pacing of this Texas Hill Country wedding day was slow without any rushing around or worry starting with Baily and Zach getting ready together.
Beginning the day this way made the getting-ready process super fun and lighthearted. It’s so sweet to watch couples care for each other by helping one another get dressed and look their best. Also, their next-level Airbnb with its private backyard served as a beautiful backdrop to these wedding photos of them getting ready.
After getting ready and reading private vows we spontaneously stopped for some french fries before heading to the park. Since the elopement planning included such a loose timeline they were able to relax and be spontaneous without feeling rushed.
Since they love hiking together, following their wedding ceremony (with an ordained minister as their officiant), they hiked Enchanted Rock for the sunset views! It was so enjoyable being their destination wedding planner! I covered everything from selecting the perfect spot for the “I do’s” to where they could best enjoy the sunset.
An Elopement Day Based on Who You Are
Baily and Zach have felt safe and at home with each other ever since first meeting through mutual friends. As Baily describes, “I fall in love with him continuously simply just by the way he takes care of me and understands me.” Zach also agrees, “She is the most caring person I’ve ever met. She’s always thinking about other people before herself. She is a wonderful mother to our daughter (Rayne) and I love seeing their bond together everyday.”
Going the elopement route for their Texas Hill Country wedding was a no-brainer based on this couple’s values. As they shared, “We don’t think all the guests and extras are necessary. It should be comfortable and stress free but still an amazing and intimate experience.”
I can’t summarize the day any better than through the bride’s own words: “Nikole made our elopement such a magical experience. My husband and I never wanted a big wedding, but instead wanted something more intimate that’s meant for the two of us. It was such a fun, beautiful experience and we will cherish our photos forever.”
